Define the crystal, surface and electrical properties your next process depends on.
A wafer or substrate is the starting condition for the work that follows. Material identity, crystal orientation, doping, dimensions and surface preparation need to be stated together, because a familiar chemical formula does not define a complete research specification. Bare substrates should also be distinguished from wafers carrying an epitaxial layer.
SC Science's existing materials scope includes gallium oxide, silicon carbide and oxide single-crystal substrates. Use this page to discuss Ga₂O₃, SiC, Nb:SrTiO₃, MgAl₂O₄ and MgO requirements, or to submit another material for review. State the required phase or polytype where relevant, orientation, doping condition and electrical property of interest. Do not assume an undoped condition when the material name alone is given. For polished substrates, identify the working face and the surface requirements needed by the intended process.
Dimensions, thickness, edge features and packaging should be compatible with sample handling and downstream equipment. Where incoming inspection or research reporting requires specific records, include those requirements in the enquiry. Available configurations and documentation are confirmed for each request. This keeps the discussion focused on the material you need while avoiding unsupported assumptions about grades, stock, defect levels or device performance.
