Environmental & Climate Testing

Turn temperature, humidity and airflow requirements into a clear test environment.

Environmental test chamber with a glazed door and specimen shelves.

Environmental testing begins with the conditions at the specimen, not only the setpoints shown by a controller. Temperature, humidity, airflow, sample loading and sensor position all influence how a test should be specified. A chamber for conditioning small samples and an airflow rig for evaluating a dehumidification device serve different purposes and should not be treated as interchangeable.

Use SC Science to discuss the test environment you need, including chamber-based exposure, controlled air supply and humidity-related measurement. Describe the specimen or device, its dimensions, heat release and moisture exchange, as well as the intended operating sequence. If the work involves dehumidification, identify the inlet conditions, air throughput and measurements needed on each side of the test section. For cycling tests, provide the sequence and the point at which a step is considered complete.

A practical specification also addresses access, utilities, drainage and the data needed to interpret a run. Distinguish controller accuracy from spatial uniformity and stability under the agreed load. Any required acceptance checks should state the measurement locations and test conditions. The proposed equipment and integration scope can then be reviewed against those requirements, without relying on an unspecified chamber rating or an assumed performance guarantee.
